Flower Care
To keep your floral arrangement looking its best, follow these simple tips:
- Before placing the flowers in vase , cut an inch of the stems diagonally with a sharp knife or scissors. this helps them absorb water more effectively. with a wrapped arrangement select a vase that’s clean and proportionate to the size of arrangement. Fill the vase half way up with cool water.
- Keep it Clean: every few days , recut the stems, clean the vase, and replace the water with fresh cool water.
- Location: Keep your arrangement away from direct sunlight, drafts, and sources of heat like radiators or appliances. Avoid placing them near ripening fruits, which emit ethylene gas that can shorten their life span.
- Foam Arrangements: Keep the foam hydrated. The key to keeping your flowers fresh in Oasis foam is to ensure the foam stays consistently moist. top the foam everyday , allowing the foam to absorb the water completely.
- Minimize flower movement: Avoid moving the flowers around in the foam too much, as this will create air pockets around the stems and hinder water absorption.
- Skip the recutting: Unlike flowers in a vase, stems in oasis foam don’t need regular cutting. if a stem dries out , remove it carefully, cut on diagonal and reinsert it into foam.
- Favor cool conditions: keep your arrangement in a cool location away from direct sunlight, drafts, and heat sources. this will help the flowers stay fresh longer
